Are you considering seeking help from a mental health provider for medication management?
To medicate or not: there is no right or wrong answer, it is what works for you and your loved ones- and it is a decision you should make with your doctor. Some people are very against it. They think that it will change brain chemistry. Well, they are right in some way. Psychiatric medication does alter things in the brain. However, there might be dysfunctional brain chemistry to begin with, and medication may make it so you or your loved one can function.
Look at it this way: (no pun intended) I use glasses to be able to see and if I did not, I could not live the same way I do now. I could not drive, could not see the television, could barely read without my materials in my face, and even then, it would be blurry. So, I use glasses so I can function and live my life closer to people who do not need glasses.
Medication may have a similar effect. Somone with schizophrenia, bipolar, ADHD, ASD, etc. might need medication so that they can function like people who don’t have those conditions.
Whatever path you choose, may it be with positive results.
